How to spot Red Flags and what to do next

Red flags or gut feelings are real ways that we talk about using mainstream language the things that you know at a deep body level.

How to Spot Red Flags

Red Flags are important indicators that help us spot potential issues or problems in different aspects of life. Whether it’s in personal relationships, business ventures, or even your own personal growth, being able to identify and avoid red flags can save you from future regrets or disappointments.

The goal for you is to understand what red flags look like and how they manifest, so you can make more informed decisions and navigate situations with greater clarity and confidence. I

In order to develop a keen sense for identifying red flags, it is important to pay attention to both subtle and overt signs.

  1. Trust your intuition. Often, our gut feelings can serve as valuable indicators that something may not be right. Additionally, conducting thorough research and gathering information can help uncover any hidden red flags.
  2. Observe patterns and pay attention to recurring behaviors or situations that make you feel uncomfortable or uneasy.
  3. Listen to your inner voice and take note of any doubts or concerns that arise.
  4. Prioritize valuing your own inner voice and intuition over what others think.
  5. Practice taking action and setting boundaries in low-risk situations.
  6. Make a point to incorporate more pleasure, self-care, and self-valuing activities in your life.

It has been found that when you prioritize yourself, first, it is easy to set and hold boundaries.

I had a situation this week where a volunteer in a program I’m in who I felt a lot of: confusion, disconnected/inconsistencies, and intensity from. I wasn’t ever overtly alarmed by him per se, but I noticed that my nervous system was always trying to keep up and couldn’t relax around him. He freaked out over email to all the parents & volunteers. I have seen enough to know that his presence in my life is no longer welcome. Even as a highly attuned psychic, his red flags weren’t apparent to me.

A sleeping snake in the grass isn’t threatening.

I always keep in mind around the area of intuition, insight, and self-talk, to not be judgmental or shaming to yourself.

You only know what you know.

Any moment you know more than you did last week.

Be kind to yourself.

What to do when you’ve ignored a Red Flag

When you find yourself in a situation where you ignored a red flag and are now facing trouble, assess the severity of the situation and take immediate action.

Firstly, trust your instincts and listen to your inner voice. If something feels off or unsafe, it is crucial to prioritize your well-being and remove yourself from the situation as soon as possible.

Secondly, seek support from others- your trusted friends, family members, or professionals who can provide assistance.

Listen, even the best among us are subject to ignorance, peer pressure, and not wanting to stand out. I’ve seen a TON of chatter online about a problem in patriarchy about how men won’t speak out against other men abusers. There’s a tendency I think in many people towards silence. Celebrities and even regular folks on social media fear backlash and cancel culture.

I aim to have the balance of the Serenity prayer. I am not able to fix all things to all people.

I am a leader in a few things (my children’s lives, my clients lives, and growing to be one with nature connection/communication).

There are many more issues and concerns that I have my own nuanced view of and could stand up and fight. But remember, your energy, like mine, works through this squishy human body that does not have the time or energy to right all the wrongs.

Big picture, First address and pay attention to the red flags in your life- whether from your body (less dairy, more cherries), your inner spirit, and your actions, then your inner circle, then your outer circle & community. If you already have a lot of coherence and alignment in your inner life and your quality of life is good, then look to what can you do in your community with your attention and action that addresses the societal red flags you see.
